(TORONTO, ON – November 22, 2016) Luxury shouldn’t be confined to the easy-going places. The 2017 Lexus GX 460 injects the comfort and amenities of a luxury SUV with the freedom to explore the road less travelled.

“The Lexus GX 460 is our ‘Grand 4x4’ – an authentic body-on-frame SUV that takes you from city streets to remote trails, or even no trail at all, with comfort, confidence and luxury,” said Jennifer Barron, Director of Lexus in Canada. “For 2017, we’re pleased to offer our guests a fresh, more athletic looking GX with the addition of a Sport Design Package on all models as standard.”

The Lexus GX 460 is offered in three trim levels:

  • 2017 Lexus GX 460 (starting MSRP $72,500)

  • 2017 Lexus GX 460 Technology Package (starting MSRP $75,650)

  • 2017 Lexus GX 460 Executive Package (starting MSRP $80,450)

New for 2017, all GX 460 models are enhanced with a Sport Design Package. This adds athletic styling, with high-gloss silver front and rear spoilers, a radiator grille lower garnish, outer mirror housings with plating, a stainless steel exhaust tip, new rear combination lamps, and unique, gunmetal tone 18” alloy wheels.

Every 2017 GX 460 is built around a 4.6L V8 engine that delivers up to 301 horsepower. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with gate-type manual shift abilities and full-time 4WD with Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) and other handling technologies to deliver driving confidence in any weather or road condition.

The GX 460 uses an electronically modulated Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System. On road, this provides exceptional handling, stability and ride comfort. Off-road, the system allows each wheel to move independently to maximize traction and minimize vehicle tilt and roll. Handling may be enhanced with the available Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control systems.

The GX 460 is also equipped for towing. A trailer sway control brake system enhances stability while towing. And a load leveling rear air suspension system automatically adjusts when attaching a trailer or loading heavy cargo.

The Lexus GX 460 is built for roughing it – but does so with luxury levels of style and comfort. The bold exterior design is enhanced for 2017 with the new Sport Design Package, while the seven-person cabin welcomes guests with rich leather, lustrous wood trim, and a long list of advanced yet intuitive technology features. Standard features include LED headlamps, heated exterior mirrors, rain sensing wipers, 3-zone automatic climate control, a heated leather and mahogany steering wheel, 17-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound Audio System, voice-activated navigation system, and more.

The Lexus GX 460 series also helps protect guests with an extensive portfolio of active and passive safety features. These include 10 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, the Blind Spot Monitor system with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, several braking technologies, a back-up camera, and more. These may be enhanced with the available Wide-view Monitor system, Lane Departure Alert, Pre-Collision System with Driver Monitoring System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and more.
