WHAT’S NEW: 2013 LEXUS LX 570


HIGHLIGHTS
 
The 2013 Lexus LX 570 offers a spacious eight - passenger cabin and continues to deliver on both challenging off-road adventures as well as luxurious daily driving. The exterior is enhanced by the new Lexus spindle grille, 20-inch alloy wheel design, and new LED daytime running lamps that complement a new headlamp design and new, larger fog lamp bezels. The interior cabin features a driver’s seat with an Easy Access system, making vehicle entry and exit easier, a feature accompanied by a steering wheel and driver’s seat that automatically retract when the ignition is turned off. In addition, the instrument panel has been updated and a new colour display applied. Even with $1,310 worth of standard features added, the LX 570 has a new, lower starting MSRP price of $87,000.
 
PERFORMANCE
 
  • The 2013 Lexus LX 570 has a 5.7L V8 engine producing 383 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and peak torque of 403 lb.ft. at 3,600 rpm.
    • For towing, 90% of peak torque is available at just 2,200 rpm.
  • High-mount, independent double-wishbone front suspension allows for nine inches of total front wheel travel for outstanding articulation over rough roads and obstacles
  • Equipped with electronically-controlled six-speed automatic transmission that estimates road conditions and predicts the driver’s intention to select appropriate gear ratio
  • New off-road turn assist and multi-terrain traction control to support off-road handling
  • Revised 5-step crawl control and enhanced 4-wheel Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for improved on/off road performance
  • Hill-start assist control
  • Trailer sway control standard on all grades
 
FEATURES
 
  • The LX 570 is a mid-model change for 2013, with a range of features added or upgraded:
    • Exterior enhancements: new front fascia as per Lexus L finesse design, including new spindle grille, revised headlamps, bumper and fog lamps; automatic leveling HID headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting, Auto High Beam and LED daytime running lights; revised rear tail lamps and rear bumper with stainless trim; new outer mirrors with integrated turn signals that have automatic triple blinking lamp functionality; body-coloured side protection moldings with chrome accent strip; chrome window trim extended upward on rear quarter window; new split 5-spoke 20” alloy wheel design; revised look for rear license plate surround; more integrated tow hitch cover  
    • Interior changes: Mahogany wood trim with chrome accents (for centre instrument cluster, front-side air vents and above the glove box) now standard; new Optitron instrument cluster with revised 3.5” TFT colour multi-information display
    • Upgraded audio: new 9-speaker Premium Sound system featuring 8” display with built-in, hard disc-drive navigation, single in-dash DVD player; USB/Aux input jack with iPod compatibility; Bluetooth hands-free capability with support for audio streaming; integrated XM satellite radio
    • New technology: Easy Access system for driver’s seat to make vehicle entry and exit easier; steering wheel and driver’s seat automatically retract when ignition turned off; improved cooling in front seats; 120-volt power outlet added to middle row;    
SAFETY
 
  • The 2013 Lexus LX 570 features important standard safety technologies:
    • Dual-stage driver and passenger airbag supplemental restraint system (SRS)
    • Front-seat-mounted side airbag, side roll-sensing curtain airbags (RSCA) and rear-seat side airbags
    • Active front headrests with whiplash protection
    • LED brake lamps
    • Anti-theft system and engine immobilizer
  • The LX’s transfer case provides full-time four-wheel drive that is equally adept at handling the rigors of slippery winter weather or deep mud or snow.
    • System uses a TORSEN® limited-slip locking centre differential to distribute power 40:60 front-to-rear, directing more power to the wheels with the best grip should slippage occur 
    • Four-wheel Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) employs both brake and throttle intervention to help control wheel spin
    • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) helps maintain directional control during cornering and can be disengaged via the “TRAC off” switch
    • Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) employs the ABS to properly balance braking forces between the front and rear wheels, while Brake Assist (BA) provides auxiliary force to assist the driver during emergency braking
