  • UX 200 Premium grade receives larger 18” wheels

TORONTO, ON –OCTOBER 26, 2020 –Stand out from the crowd and make a powerful statement with the Lexus UX series – the fresh take on the compact luxury SUV that combines city-smart technology and bold urban style, ready to enable your active lifestyle. Fusing SUV-versatility with the agility of a hatchback, the UX is also filled with intuitive technology to keep you connected with the wider world. The UX is available in two powertrains – headlined by the UX 250h, which combines popular and proven Lexus self-charging hybrid electric technology with innovative and efficient electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive.

For 2021, Lexus designers and craftspeople have reconfigured the cargo space of the UX 250h to incorporate an adjustable height floor panel. This double-deck feature provides an optimal deck height for most cargo-carrying needs, while lifting up to reveal a second deck to increase the cargo capacity by 26% when extra room is required.

Meantime, the gas-powered UX 200 FWD gets new, larger 18” wheels on the Premium grade.

All UX series models are urban savvy and display their sophistication with cutting edge, convention-shattering design. A bold interpretation of the signature Lexus Spindle Grille is bracketed by large air intakes and dramatically flared wheel fenders that emphasize the UX’s strong crossover qualities. Its nimble performance and excellent handling shine through in details like aero-stabilizing blade lights and the alloy wheels. At the rear, a continuous line of 120 LEDs connects the combination lamps in a single line to round out the UX’s innovative character and cutting-edge appeal.

What’s more, the UX’s striking design blurs the boundary between outside and inside. The hood appears to flow into the cabin to form the instrument panel, creating a sense of seamless continuity. The cabin has space for five adults, welcoming driver and passengers to a spacious atmosphere of uncompromising luxury. Front seats are eight-way power adjustable and heated. Rear seat passengers enjoy an airy, open space, while rear seats split 60/40 to open up generous cargo space.

The UX cabin is also a technology showcase, well-appointed with powerful yet intuitive features and systems. All models feature Lexus Display Audio with Remote, which includes Enform Remote (3-year trial), Enform Safety Connect (3-year trial) and Enform Service Connect (10-year trial), and both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility to keep you connected, no matter where the journey takes you. Other technology features include USB audio input, integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio (3-Month All Access Trial), and Bluetooth connectivity.

More than a stylish and connected crossover, the UX possesses the nimble moves to make driving in urban areas most enjoyable. Built on the Lexus Compact Global Architectural Platform (GA-C), the UX features high structural rigidity, a low centre of gravity, and the tightest turning radius in its class. The UX is really to respond – quickly and surely – to your every input, delivering an exceptionally agile driving experience. The UX is engineered around two powertrains:

  • The UX 250h AWD features the responsive power and remarkable fuel efficiency of the fourth generation of the Lexus Self-Charging Hybrid Electric system. This powertrain combines a 2.0L four-cylinder engine, electronic continuously variable transmission, and high-torque electric motors to generate 181 net system horsepower. The UX 250h also features an innovative electronic on-demand AWD system that enhances confidence and elevates control. When accelerating, cornering, or driving on slippery surfaces, an additional electric motor at the back of the vehicle automatically adjusts the power-split between front and rear axles. The result is exceptional handling stability and greater traction across a range of driving situations – all without compromising cargo space. The best part? It does all this while achieving a fuel efficiency of 6.0 L / 100 km (city/highway combined), which means less time at the pumps and lower emissions.
  • The UX 200 FWD also features a 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine and direct shift continuously variable transmission, delivering 168 peak horsepower and a fuel efficiency of 7.2 L / 100 km (city/highway combined).

All UX series models are ready to help you deal with the unexpected, with a comprehensive safety package headlined by Lexus Safety System+ 2.0. – an integrated suite of active safety features that support your awareness and decision making under a variety of conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety equipment includes 10 air bags, a backup camera, and the Blind Spot Monitoring System.
