TORONTO, ON – August 8, 2019 – Stand out from the crowd, with the 2020 Lexus NX. Blending daring style, intuitive technology and exquisite craftsmanship – and available with a choice of turbo gasoline or hybrid electric powertrains – the NX series is the luxury compact crossover like no other.
“The NX series fuses head-turning style with the versatility of an SUV and the agility of a sports car, confidently meeting the needs of today’s Canadian luxury goods-motivated consumers.” said Robert Tsang, Director of Lexus in Canada. “And, for those Canadians looking to experience a no-compromise experience within the electric automobile space, we’re excited to announce that we’ve made the self-charging hybrid electric NX300h even more accessible. For the 2020 model year, at just a $2,500 step up from the NX 300 turbo version, the self-charging hybrid electric NX represents the perfect opportunity to explore the merits of hybrids.“
The Lexus NX design makes a powerful statement in the hot compact crossover segment – with a low, broad, confident stance, gem-inspired LED headlamps, alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and the signature Lexus spindle grille. Bold bodywork and accents anticipate the drive ahead, while the keyless door handles open to reveal a warm, welcoming and surprisingly spacious interior finished in a sophisticated palette of colours and textures. New for 2020, a Rioja Red interior with black trim joins the list of available stunning colour combinations. Cabins are well-equipped with features and amenities that enhance comfort, convenience and luxury – such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, power windows with auto up/down function on all windows, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, the Lexus Smart Key System with Push Button Start, and more.
The 2020 NX is also a technology showcase, with powerful yet intuitive systems that deliver thoughtful connectivity and peace of mind. These include the Lexus Multimedia System, an 8” Display Audio system, Apple CarPlay™, Scout GPS Link or embedded Navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel-mounted controls, and more.
Lexus NX guests may choose from two advanced powertrains that combine responsiveness and efficiency. The conventionally-powered Lexus NX 300 features a 2.0L four-cylinder direct-injection engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbo charger, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Meantime, the NX 300h is built around a self-charging Lexus Hybrid Drive featuring a 2.5L four-cylinder and electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Both feature advanced handling and control systems, from all-wheel-drive with dynamic torque control to responsive yet comfortable suspension systems and electric power steering.
The 2020 NX series also delivers impressive safety, starting with receiving the latest advanced driver aids featured in LSS+ 2.0 (Lexus Safety System + 2.0), which adds Lane Trace assist (only on Premium Package and above) and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian detection in low-light and Bicycle detection to the already impressive suite of advanced safety features with no change to MSRP. LSS+ is now standard equipment on all new 2020 models Lexus offers in Canada. LSS+ supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a variety of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other safety features include a back-up camera, onboard first-aid kit, and available upgrades such as the blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert systems.
A strong suite of connected technology is now enhanced with available Enform Remote and Enform Service Connect on select models. With these features, you can use the new Lexus App to remotely start your engine, lock your doors and access vehicle health reports. Select models are now also equipped with Android Auto™ compatibility.
The NX series is offered in several model and trim combinations, as follows:
The 2020 Lexus NX 300 (starting MSRP: $44,150) is the starting point for two upgrade paths. The available Premium, Luxury and Executive packages enhance this model with progressive levels of luxury and technology, while the F SPORT Series 1, F SPORT Series 2 and F SPORT Series 3 upgrades offer three levels of luxury wrapped in more aggressive styling and enhanced performance.
The 2020 Lexus NX 300h (starting MSRP: $46,650) – also available at the Premium and Executive trim levels – adds three further choices, designed around the world’s most popular and proven self-charging hybrid technology to deliver both impressive performance and exceptional fuel efficiency.
