Lexus is conducting a safety recall involving certain Lexus LS vehicles

TORONTO, Ontario, February 27, 2019 – Lexus is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2018 model year Lexus LS 500/500h vehicles in Canada. Approximately 298 vehicles are involved in this recall.

The involved vehicles are equipped with run-flat tires that were assembled to the wheels improperly. There is a possibility that a crack could develop on the sidewall reinforcement layer of the tires.  Under certain driving conditions, portions of the tire tread layer could separate, causing a reduction of vehicle stability and increasing the risk of a crash.

For all involved vehicles, all four tires will be replaced with new ones at no charge to the customer if one or more tire(s) are run-flat tire(s) manufactured by a specific tire supplier.  Known owners of all involved vehicles will receive direct notification by first-class mail by late April.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is subject to change over time.  For the most up-to-date Safety Recall information on Lexus vehicles, customers should check their vehicle’s status by visiting lexus.ca/recall and entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For any additional questions, customer support is also available by calling the Lexus Customer Service at 1-800-26-LEXUS (1-800-265-3987).
