TORONTO, Ontario (January 9th, 2024) – The carbon-neutral future is beautiful, in the Lexus RZ 450e. This fully-electric luxury SUV features a scintillating design, the exhilarating performance and handling of the Lexus Driving Signature, ground-breaking yet intuitive technologies, and the peace of mind that comes from advanced safety systems and Lexus quality.

For its first-ever fully-electric SUV, Lexus designers crafted a body style that captures the seamless acceleration and dynamic torque unique to battery electric vehicles. With no combustion engine to cool, the front presents a fresh, grille-free face to express the RZ’s minimalist, forward-looking aesthetic. The sleek front bumper design includes headlamps that highlight the bold Lexus L-signature. From the side, the body’s athletic proportions convey the RZ’s unique personality while also enhancing aerodynamic efficiency and handling, and a precisely honed character line creates an arrow-like profile. At the back, the rear flares visually to evoke the RZ’s powerful traction. Other notable exterior features include a heated and illuminated LEXUS emblem on the nose, LED daytime running lights, clearance lights, and rear combination lamps, power folding and heated mirrors with integrated signal lamps, and rain-sensing wipers. Lexus offers the RZ in a selection of eye-catching colours. New this year, these include Copper Crest and two-tone Copper Crest / Black Onyx roof, available for Luxury and Executive grade models.

Inside, the clean aesthetic continues, with a modern cabin designed to welcome up to five adults to the future of comfort and luxury. High-quality craftsmanship is evident throughout.

Front seats are heated and power adjustable, while a dual-zone independent automatic climate control system keeps everyone comfortable in all weather. Drivers will appreciate the heated steering wheel with integrated paddle shifters, and a seven-inch full-colour multi-information display. All instruments and controls have been placed in accordance with Lexus’ human-centred philosophy, so they fall naturally under the driver’s glance and fingertips to create the ultimate feeling of control.

Each model features a grade-specific ambient illumination system that contributes to a richer experience while driving and sophisticated flare to the interior.

While designers crafted an electrified beauty, engineers created a powertrain that takes full advantage of the distinct performance of a pure battery EV. This electrified interpretation of the Lexus Driving Signature starts with a dedicated BEV platform. Built around a 71.4 kWh battery mounted low in the platform to lower the centre of gravity, the RZ’s power output of 150kW to the front and 80 kW to the rear translates to 308 system horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque across a broad speed range. The Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system controls front and rear drive force according to driving and road surface conditions while the eAxle transmission with paddle shifters provides a more engaging experience when desired. The RZ 450e has a driving range rated at up to 354 km (when equipped with 18-inch wheels) and all models include a Level 1 charging cable – enabling Guests to recharge their RZ from any standard, grounded (120V AC, three-prong) power outlet. For faster charging, the RZ can also be plugged into Level 2 (240V AC) or Level 3 (480V DC) charging systems. For peace of mind, all EV components including the battery are warrantied for eight years or 160,000 km.

Every 2024 RZ 450e is impressively equipped with advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface. This wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features a 14-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite compatibility. The Lexus Interface incorporates a natural language virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App. Other standard features include a wireless charging dock for smartphones, five USB-C charging ports, and the Lexus Smart Key System with Push Button Start.

As a Lexus, every RZ 450e also features state of the art safety systems – starting with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. This is the newest version of the Lexus portfolio of active safety technologies, which supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety features on all models include the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Safe Exit Assist with Digital Latch, a backup camera with back guide monitor, eight airbags, the Rear Seat Reminder system, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The 2024 Lexus RZ 450e Signature welcomes Guests to the all-electric, luxury SUV experience. This model features a Lexus Display Audio system with 14-inch touchscreen and 10 speakers, the Lexus Interface with Remote Connect, Service Connect, and Safety Connect features, a 7-inch full digital instrument cluster, electrochromatic rear view mirror with integrated HomeLink system, dual-zone independent automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, NuLuxe upholstery, an ambient cabin lighting system, headlamp washers, hi-LED tail lamps, roof rails, and all-season tires mounted on signature-grade, 18-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels with a dark metallic grey and machined finish. New this year, this model is now fitted with carpeted floor mats and an updated meter cluster that displays power consumption as a percentage.

The 2024 Lexus RZ 450e Luxury enhances the Signature grade, adding the Lexus Interface with Remote Connect, Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Drive Connect features, a fixed glass panoramic roof (instead of roof rails), a power back door with kick-sensor activation for hands-free operation, heated and ventilated front seats including radiant knee heaters, a driver’s seat memory system, a power tilting/telescoping steering column, reverse auto-tilting exterior mirrors, decorated instrument panel, door courtesy lamps, single shadow ambient cabin lighting system, additional safety technologies (including Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Alert), Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, and performance summer tires mounted on luxury-grade 20-inch split-10-spoke alloy wheels with a black and machined finish. New for 2024, this model also includes a digital key and digital rear view mirror. This model offers a range of up to 315 km.

The 2024 Lexus RZ 450e Executive upgrades the Luxury model with several enhancements, including a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Audio system, advanced touch steering wheel, hi-grade meter cluster, head up display, adaptive high beam system with dynamic levelling, a fixed glass panoramic roof with dimming feature, ultrasuede upholstery, heated rear seats, the Advanced Park system, a digital key, acoustic front and rear side glass, multi-colour shadowy illumination system, and performance summer tires mounted on executive-grade 20-inch, split ten-spoke alloy wheels with gunmetal finish.
