2008 Lexus IS F wins Best New Sports/Performance Over $50,000 Category for the 2009 Canadian Car of the Year

Canada's automotive journalists have driven the best new products from the auto industry at the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's (AJAC) 2009 Canadian Car of the Year TestFest, and declared the 2008 Lexus IS F the winner in the Best New Sports/Performance Over $50,000 category.

"We would like to thank the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada for making this a memorable moment for the innovative and exciting Lexus IS F," said Sandy Di Felice, Director of Lexus in Canada. "This endorsement of Lexus' advanced, innovative and passionate sports performance sedan is indeed an honour for the brand, and a testament to Lexus' design and engineering."

AJAC crowned the 2008 Lexus IS F Series 1 as this year's best new vehicle in the "Sports/Performance Over $50,000" category. The IS F - with a suggested retail price starting at $64,400 - injects a new excitement in the Lexus brand. This high performance luxury sedan, powered by a five-litre V8 that generates a huge band of beastly horsepower and torque, is coupled to the world's first Sport Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission.
