TORONTO, April 13, 2020 – Those with an appetite for competition will want to tune into the newest season of Top Chef Canada, which premieres April 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network Canada.  The eighth season sees a stellar lineup of 12 talented culinary warriors prepared to compete in cutthroat challenges and battle for the title of Canada’s Top Chef. In addition to taking home the sought-after title, this season’s lucky winner will also receive a grand prize, which includes a made-in-Canada 2020 Lexus RX 450h self-charging hybrid electric luxury SUV, valued at $72,600.

The 12 chef competitors from across Canada will take the wheel of the Lexus RX throughout the season, allowing them to seamlessly transport their groceries in luxury and comfort when shopping for the challenges.  Lexus also ensures that the esteemed judging panel will arrive to challenges in style.

The RX is the original luxury crossover – the one that started it all - and for 2020, the RX delivers even more of what has made it a favourite with Canadian luxury buyers year after year.  With a compelling price point, there’s also no better time for Canadians to enjoy the no-compromises electrified luxury experience of the RX450h, or any of the other models available as self-charging hybrid electric vehicles.

“Lexus takes the time to craft not just the finest luxury vehicles but also the finest experience for our Guests.  It is what has truly set us apart for the last 30 years in Canada,” says Robert Tsang, Director, Lexus in Canada.  “Similarly, we know Canadians who appreciate a finely crafted vehicle experience also appreciate finely crafted culinary experiences.  That’s why we’re so excited to be the first-ever vehicle sponsor for Top Chef Canada.”

New for 2020, Lexus gives the RX series a bold new look, starting with a refined front grille, redesigned LED headlights and rear taillights, and newly styled wheels and loads it up with exceptional standard features in the areas of safety, connectivity and more. Choose from four models with a choice of powertrains and seating capacity, then tailor the RX to reflect your taste and lifestyle with an impressive selection of upgrade packages – including F SPORT editions.

All RX models for 2020 come standard with the latest smartphone auto shared displays and their respective virtual assistants, as well as Enform Remote Connect, Enform Safety Connect and Enform Service Connect. Via the Lexus App, Guests can control their Lexus from a distance with features like remote start, lock/unlock, and more.

The winner of Top Chef Canada, Season 8 will love the advanced performance and efficiency of their RX 450h Self-Charging Hybrid Electric SUV.  This particular model features a kick sensor power back door as well as a panoramic glass roof, panoramic view monitor, power folding rear seats, a head-up display, wireless charging system for compatible personal electronics, and a 15 speaker Mark Levinson Audio system.  It’s also available in a pair of F SPORT editions, which enhance performance and wrap the base RX in more aggressive style.
