All-new sleek and stylish 2010 Lexus IS convertible unveiled at the 2009 Montreal International Auto Show

(MONTREAL) – Canadian drivers looking for a sporty, sleek and stylish advanced luxury motoring experience need look no further as Lexus unveils the 2010 Lexus IS convertible at the 2009 Montreal Auto Show.

These convertibles will be available in IS 250 C and IS 350 C versions of the very popular ISseries performance luxury sedans. They feature a three-panel perfectly integrated hardtop that retracts smoothly and quietly in a class-leading time of approximately 20 seconds. A sleek aerodynamic design and a collection of underbody covers help achieve its lowest possible coefficient of drag – 0.29 – while creating minimal wind turbulence on the cabin. New combination tail-lamp clusters feature LED lights, and an LED brake light is integrated within the standard rear spoiler.

The interior maintains the innovation and luxury touch points associated with the IS sport sedans, while new comfort and entertainment features provide a consistent atmosphere regardless of whether top is opened or closed.

A number of active safety features from the IS sedans transfer to the convertible versions as well, including Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and an available Pre-Collision System (PCS). The Safety Restraint System (SRS) will include the twin-chamber passenger airbag, while a new enlarged seat-mounted side airbag helps provide additional protection in certain side-impact scenarios.

Building upon the performance and styling trends set by the IS luxury sport sedans, the IS250C and IS350C will arrive in Canada in the late spring. The 2009 Montreal International Auto Show runs January 16-25 at the Palais Des Congrs in Montreal.
