TORONTO, ONTARIO, February 15, 2018 – Lexus invites Canadians to experience head-turning design, supple details, class-leading safety and pulse-racing performance through its amazing portfolio of cars, crossovers and SUVs. And at this month’s Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, drivers can get up close and personal with the epitome of it all and future of luxury as the Lexus LS+ Concept makes its North American debut.
“This year, Lexus brings a brand new display design to the Toronto Auto Show that truly reflects the future of the brand.” said Jennifer Barron, Director of Lexus in Canada. “Patrons of the show will experience all that Lexus has to offer in terms of innovation, such as the latest in automated driving technology featured in the LS+ Concept. And of course, visitors will see our expansive collection of vehicles that Canadians love and continue to embrace, such as the all new three row RX L recently revealed in Detroit.”
Highlights in the Lexus exhibit include:
Lexus LS+ Concept
The LS+ Concept expresses the future direction of Lexus styling, as applied to the LS series flagship sedan. Notable exterior features include a new Spindle Grille with large shutter that enhances both cooling and aerodynamic performance. Headlamps and rear combination lamps are partially laser-lit, while the traditional side mirrors are completely replaced with electronic technology that displays images inside the cabin. The LS+ also showcases state of the art technologies including “Highway Teammate”, which would enable completely autonomous driving on limited access highways such as the 400 series in Ontario. The vehicle features onboard artificial intelligence, which can perform merges, lane changes, lane keeping, and help provide adequate space around the vehicle. The AI also connects with a Lexus data centre to allow Lexus to easily add new functions, and it learns from road and other sources to enhance its performance. The LS is a vehicle that can grow along with its driver, representing a new age of vehicles to which people can become emotionally attached.
Lexus RX L
The Lexus RX L seats up to seven in comfort and luxury, but it’s more than an RX with an extra row. Lexus designers and engineered worked closely to craft a new body design to ensure that the third row would be every bit as comfortable as the second – even as this new model offers class-leading cargo space behind the rear seats. All RX L models include luxury touches such as leather seating and tri-zone climate control, the convenience of a hands-free power tailgate, an impressive set of safety systems headlined by standard Lexus Safety System+, and more.
An all-new Lexus exhibit will welcome visitors to the Canadian International Auto Show into the world of luxury motoring and demonstrate how Lexus provides a stage for the creation of amazing experiences in their lives. Other highlights of the Lexus exhibit include zones in which visitors may explore the active technologies of Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+), now standard on 98 percent of the vehicles that Lexus offers in Canada. As well, the display will let visitors discover the advanced yet intuitive connected vehicle technologies and applications available as part of the Lexus Enform service.
The 2018 Canadian International Auto Show takes place February 16-25 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
