From every angle, the 2020 Lexus LX is designed to evoke a sense of strength and elegance. Its bold, single-piece signature grille is framed by satin chrome trim and flanked by striking LED headlights. Meantime, details such as the integrated, roof-mounted rear spoiler, LED daytime running lights and fog lamps, power moon roof, illuminated running boards and 21” split 10-spoke alloy wheels transcend traditional SUV styling, even as they command attention.

Even as the exterior makes a bold statement about commanding performance, the interior expresses the master craftsmanship and superior attention to detail for which Lexus is globally admired. Luxurious wooden finishes adorn the heated steering wheel, the shift knob, the centre console, and the door trim. Supple, perforated leather cloaks all seating for a rich, serene driving atmosphere. The cabin is generous – even for eight people – and thoughtfully appointed with luxury touches and amenities that make every ride a pleasure. The front row seats are power adjustable, heated and ventilated, and include a three-setting driver’s seat memory system. The second row seats split 40/20/40 and include heating and ventilation on the end sitting positions, plus a power slide function. The third row seats split 50/50 and power fold up to clear space for cargo. Stowing all of the seats opens up 1.267 cubic metres (44.7 cubic feet) of room for gear.

And because every great adventure needs a great soundtrack, every LX is fitted with a 19-speaker, 450-watt Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound audio system with 7.1-channel architecture, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Those in the back will appreciate the dual seatback DVD entertainment system with 11.6” VGA screens, two sets of wireless headphones, and an audio and DVD remote control.

The 2020 LX 570 delivers performance with no compromise, built around a 5.7L V8 that generates 383 peak horsepower and up to 403 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the road or the trail via a full-time four-wheel drive system enhanced with off-road turn assist, a multi-terrain traction control system, drive mode select, four-wheel crawl control and other handling and control technologies. An adaptive variable suspension system and active height control system help smooth the ride while easily handling the rigours of off-roading.

This bundle of active safety technologies is now standard equipment on 100% of all new models Lexus offers in Canada. LSS+ supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a variety of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other safety features include a back-up camera, the Lexus Wide View front and side monitor system, intuitive parking assist, the Lexus blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert systems, 10 airbags, an onboard first aid kit and tool kit, anti-theft system, and direct tire pressure monitoring system.

The 2020 Lexus LX 570 Executive Package (starting MSRP: $111,300) features four-zone independent climate control, a wireless charging system for compatible personal electronics, the Lexus Smart Key System with Push Button Start and a wallet-sized smart card key, LED map lamps, a front console cool box, and more standard features.

The 2020 Lexus LX 570 Sport Package (starting MSRP: $115,100) is a new model and substitutes in a new grille, front and rear bumpers and side steps that convey a more athletic appearance.
