TORONTO, ON – November 27, 2019 – You push the envelope in your life – your ride should too: That’s the promise that the 2020 Lexus GS F delivers.
“The GS F is the quintessential sports sedan in the truest sense. It combines the visceral power and sound of a 5.0L V8 and the athletic handling of a track-tested suspension,” said Robert Tsang, Director of Lexus in Canada. “This is the sedan for the driver who values performance and engineering without compromise, but also demands the luxury and craftsmanship that only Lexus can provide.”
A grand touring sedan like no other, the GS F is built around a beast of an engine; a 467 HP naturally aspirated 5.0 litre V8, coupled to an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and Active Sound Control, which enhances engine growl at start up and during acceleration to deliver a sensory experience that elevates the GS F into a class of its own.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a Torque Vectoring Differential. Tested on the world’s best race circuits for precise control over rear wheel torque, this system lets drivers experience incredible cornering with a choice of three operating modes. Standard mode delivers a balance of agility and stability. Slalom mode emphasizes the GS F’s nimble steering response. And Track Mode helps maintain consistent stickiness between wheels and pavement during aggressive acceleration.
The GS F features an Adaptive Variable Suspension, which absorbs vibrations on rough pavement, reduces body roll during cornering, and maintains ideal composure during acceleration and hard braking. Drive Mode Select lets the driver adapt the GS F to their mood – with S+, Sport, Normal, and Eco settings.
Stopping power is essential, so engineers fitted the GS F with the best: massive Brembo high-tech brakes are tailored specifically to the GS F, with six-piston mono-block front calipers, four-piston rear calipers and large rotors with a fast-cooling slotted design.
A powerful sedan needs a high-performance look, too – and the GS F is striking and sophisticated. Instantly recognizable as an F model – paying tribute to the Fuji Speedway in Japan – the GS F features an enlarged grille with distinctive mesh pattern and pronounced air vents to aid in rapid brake cooling. LED headlamps and L-shaped LED running lights flank the grille, enhancing the GS F’s wide stance. In profile, the GS F sits low on 19” forged aluminum wheels. At the rear, stacked quad exhaust diffusers and a carbon fibre spoiler add functionality and aggressive strength.
As a Lexus, the 2020 GS F also offers drivers and passengers peace of mind through a comprehensive safety package – starting with Lexus Safety System +. This bundle of active safety technologies (pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with lane keep assist, dynamic radar cruise control, and automatic high beam system) supports the driver’s awareness. Other standard safety features include the Lexus Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, a backup camera, 10 airbags, clearance and backup sensors and intuitive parking assist.
The 2020 Lexus GS F – offered in one fully-equipped model at a starting MSRP of $99,750 – comes with a power moonroof, F-branded power-adjustable front sport seats clad in perforated leather with seat memory systems, Climate Concierge with heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound audio system with 12.3” multimedia display.
