TORONTO, ONTARIO – AUGUST 18, 2021 –Bold and refined, the Lexus RX series is the mid-size luxury SUV that offers Canadian guests an exquisite blend of uncompromising refinement, luxurious features and amenities, powerful yet intuitive technologies, and inspiring performance.
“The RX series established the luxury SUV segment and has become our all-time most popular model, and when you experience the RX it’s easy to appreciate why,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus in Canada. “With a choice of two- and three-row models, both offered with a choice of conventional gasoline or advanced self-charging hybrid models, there’s an RX for every Guest looking for an SUV that makes every journey as enjoyable as the destination.”
For 2022, Lexus offers its Canadian Guests an impressive selection of 17 model and trim configurations – including two-row RX 350 conventional and RX 450h self-charging hybrid models, as well as the three-row RX 350 L and RX 450h L. The RX series can also be tailored to match one’s style and lifestyle – with classic premium, luxury, and executive trim levels, plus aggressively styled, performance oriented F SPORT configurations. For 2022, the RX lineup includes the limited production “Moonlight Edition” model in both RX 350 and RX 450h configurations. (These are detailed in a separate news release.)
The RX series is bold and refined, expressing the Lexus design language with a striking front grille flanked by air intakes, LED headlights nestled into a pronounced L-shaped motif, and a chiseled body riding on large, sure-footed wheels. More than a beautiful luxury SUV, the body design minimizes wind resistance and noise while enhancing stability at highway speeds. New body colours this year include Nori Green Pearl (two-row Luxury and Executive trims), Grecian Water (two-row F SPORT models), and Cloudburst Grey and Iridium (three-row models).
The RX invites Lexus guests into a cabin of sublime comfort and superb craftsmanship, complete with many comfort features and elegant finishes such as the hand-switched leather dash. The two-row RX 350 and RX 450h models seat five adults in comfort, while the RX 350 L and RX 450h L add a third row for additional passenger capacity. All models feature versatile interiors that quickly reconfigure to provide additional cargo space when required.
Lexus provides guests with powerful yet intuitive technology and on the 2022 RX these are headlined by Lexus display audio entertainment and connectivity systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Models fitted with Lexus Display Audio with Remote include Remote Connect, Service Connect, and Safety Connect. Those featuring Lexus Navigation with Remote include the three Connect services, plus Embedded Navigation and Destination Assist. Other standard technology features include the Smart Key System with Push Button Start. (Additional technology features vary by trim level and are detailed below.)
The RX series features active torque all wheel drive, which delivers superior traction performance on all surface conditions while featuring the ability to efficiently distribute torque between the front and rear wheels. Electric power steering and suspensions designed and tuned to perfectly balance comfort and responsiveness make the RX series a joy to drive, while Drive Mode Select lets drivers alter the vehicle’s driving characteristics to suit any mood or weather and road conditions.
As a Lexus, every 2022 RX model is impressively equipped with state of the art safety features, headlined by Lexus Safety System + 2.0. This portfolio of active safety technologies supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other safety systems include the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, rain-sensing wipers, and a backup camera.
The Lexus RX 350 is the classic RX model – updated for today’s luxury driver.
