TORONTO, ONTARIO – SEPTEMBER 26^th, 2023 – The Lexus RX invites Canadians to cherish each moment behind the wheel, with an impressive lineup of bold and elegant luxury SUVs chiselled to perfection. New this year, Lexus debuts the first plug-in hybrid electric RX – taking everything that Canadians love about the RX in an exciting new direction.

“For the fifth generation of our all-time Canadian best-seller, Lexus designers and engineers created an RX that embodies the Next Chapter of the Lexus brand – from its new global platform design, to its state of the art multimedia and safety technologies,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “The biggest news this year is the introduction of an all-new RX, with an all-new powertrain: The highly-anticipated RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid electric makes its debut, offering Guests an RX with remarkable performance and efficiency.”

The 2024 Lexus RX features a sleek and sophisticated body design, expressing a new driving experience with its low, planted stance. A fresh take on the Lexus signature spindle grille is bold and seamless, and bracketed by striking LED headlights. The rear features a light bar that maintains a pronounced L-design motif. More than simply a beautiful SUV, the RX body design is also engineered to enhance the vehicle’s dynamic handling and supple ride. The surface strongly flares from the rear doors towards the back wheel wells, evoking the powerful traction produced by the RX’s all-wheel-drive system. Meantime, a precisely hone character line runs from front to rear, creating an arrow-like profile with the flowing roofline to minimize drag, reduce noise, and enhance stability at higher speeds.

Inside, the RX provides up to five adults with a realm of sublime comfort. The cabin feels airier and its design is clean without holding back on elegant details – such as laser cut wood and 3D embossed materials. A perfect blend of function, form, and beauty makes the RX cabin an inviting, premium experience, while drivers will welcome the thoughtful design that puts all instrumentation and controls within natural sight and touch.

Understanding Canadian Guests have differing needs and lifestyles, Lexus has developed four distinct powertrains for the 2024 RX:

• Lexus offers Canadian Guests a choice of seven RX 350 grades built around a 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic with sequential shift mode and electronically controlled full-time all-wheel-drive. This powertrain delivers 275 peak horsepower and up to 317 lb-ft of torque, while achieving a fuel efficiency rating of 9.9L/100km city/highway combined.


• Available in four grades, the RX 350h is fitted with a self-charging hybrid electric system built around a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. This powertrain generates 246 system horsepower and a fuel efficiency rating of 6.5L/100km city/highway combined.


• Two RX 500h grades feature a Lexus-first one-motor hybrid system. This self-charging hybrid electric is built around a 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine integrated with a high-output electric motor, inverter, and reduction gearbox. This is coupled to a six-speed automatic with sequential shift mode and the advanced Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system. This powertrain generates 367 system horsepower and up to 406 lb-ft of torque for incredible acceleration at all speeds, while achieving a fuel efficiency rating of 8.6L/100km city/highway combined.


• Finally, the all-new RX 450h+ is offered in a single grade featuring a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain. This RX joins the Lexus NX 450h+ in offering Canadian Guests a plug-in hybrid luxury choice. This model’s advanced drivetrain is built around a 2.5L inline four-cylinder intercooled engine, an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission with sequential shift mode, and an electronically controlled on-demand all-wheel-drive system. This powerful drivetrain provides luxury levels of performance and consistent acceleration off the line with an estimated 0-100 km/h time of just 6.5 seconds. Its power is matched by equally impressive efficiency – with an estimated fuel efficiency rating of 2.8L_e/100 km combined city/highway. The RX 450h+ has an estimated electric-only range of 60 kilometres (at which point the vehicle seamlessly switches over to self-charging hybrid electric mode) and can be fully charged in as little as two and a half hours on a 240V outlet.

Every 2024 RX is impressively equipped with advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface. This Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features an 9.8” standard or available 14” touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite compatibility. The Lexus Interface incorporates a natural language virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App.

As a Lexus, every RX is impressively equipped with state of the art safety features. All models are fitted with Lexus Safety System + 3.0 – the newest portfolio of Lexus active safety technologies that supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety systems include the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, a backup camera with Back Guide Monitor system and camera washer, and eight airbags.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 Premium welcomes Canadian Guests to the RX experience with a well-equipped mid-size luxury SUV. Features include a Lexus display audio system with 9.8” touchscreen, 12 speakers, and the Lexus Interface system, a 7” full digital instrument cluster, a 7” digital multi-information display, 19” alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, a 3,500-pound towing rating, a moon roof, power folding exterior mirrors, heated LEXUS emblem, colour-keyed over-fenders, three-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory system, NuLuxe upholstery, ambient interior lighting system, auto-limited slip differential, Active Noise Control, and a power back door.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 Luxury introduces several upgrades to the Premium grade – including a 14” touchscreen display, unique 21” alloy wheels, a panoramic moon roof, heated and ventilated rear seats, leather upholstery, a rear console box, multi-colour ambient interior lighting system, and a wireless charging system for compatible smart phones. New this year, this model now comes with a digital key.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 Ultra Luxury enhances the Luxury grade, adding a head up display, triple beam headlamps with the adaptive high beam system, Panoramic View Monitor with cleaner, advanced touch steering wheel, digital rear-view mirror, power back door with kick sensor, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 Executive builds on the Ultra Luxury grade, adding a 21 speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound audio system, 21” high alloy wheels, semi-Aniline upholstery, power folding rear seats, the Advanced Park system, and rear sunshade.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT 1 enhances the RX 350 Premium grade with styling and performance cues drawn from the Lexus high-performance catalogue. This model’s performance is upgraded with the Adaptive Variable Suspension system. It then builds on the Premium package by adding 21” F SPORT performance alloy wheels, F SPORT grille and bumpers, 7” Hi Grade F SPORT digital instrument cluster, F SPORT leather-wrapped steering wheel with Advanced Touch features, aluminum sport pedals and interior trim, a head up display, and multi-colour ambient interior lighting.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT 2 builds on the F SPORT 1 grade, adding a 14” touchscreen, panoramic moon roof, heated and ventilated rear seats, power folding rear seats, leather upholstery, a rear console box, and a wireless charging system for compatible smart phones. New this year, this trim level now comes with a digital key.

The 2024 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT 3 upgrades the F SPORT 2 grade by adding a 21 speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound audio system, triple beam headlamps with the adaptive high beam system, Panoramic View Monitor with cleaner, power back door with kick sensor, digital rear-view mirror, the Advanced Park system, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert.

The 2024 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT Performance 2 takes the self-charging hybrid electric RX in a sportier direction with styling and performance cues drawn from the Lexus high-performance catalogue. This model’s performance upgrades include a more powerful hybrid system, an eAxle rear differential, and four-wheel steering. Other features start with the Premium packaging, then upgrades it with 21” F SPORT performance alloy wheels, colour-keyed rocker panels, F SPORT grille and bumpers, Active Sound Control, a digital key, digital rear-view mirror, power back door with kick sensor, power folding exterior mirrors, heated and ventilated front seats, and power folding rear seats.
