TORONTO, JANUARY 9, 2025 – The Lexus GX has always proven it’s possible to have a vehicle that delivers exceptional luxury and authentic off-road functionality. For more than 20 years, this sturdy body-on-frame vehicle has encouraged Canadian Guests to go beyond the pavement, and has built a massive following. For 2025, Lexus enhances the third-generation GX with additional standard gear for several packages, while staying true to its mission of enabling and accelerating amazing adventures.
“The 2025 Lexus GX is the Sophisticated Utility Vehicle – one that retains many of the qualities that has made the GX legendary, while enhancing this always-capable SUV with impressive capability, a tough, rugged exterior, modern luxury, and state of the art technology,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “The GX combines off-road-ready style, a luxurious and modern cabin, and state of the art technology and safety. But most of all, it’s engineered to deliver on the promise, with an incredible powertrain enhanced with handling and control technologies to expand every Guest’s horizons.”
Every 2025 GX features a powertrain designed for impressive performance – on or off the road. Lexus engineers mated a 3.4 L twin turbo V6 to a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic with paddle shifters. This delivers plenty of horsepower and torque to the full-time four-wheel-drive powertrain, which includes a Torsen limited slip locking rear differential. This powertrain generates 349 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque to enable a towing rating of up to 9,063 pounds, while achieving a fuel efficiency rating of 13.5L / 100km (city/highway combined).
The 2025 GX is built on the Lexus GA-F platform to maximize rigidity and deliver impressive on-road handling. At the same time, it’s engineered for go-anywhere capability. The GA-F platform maximizes suspension performance, creates stable wheel articulation, and delivers highly consistent tire contact, making the GX able to withstand twisty off-road forces while maintaining in-cabin stability.
This ability is reflected in, and reinforced by, a square-body profile and aggressive stance, optimized for the trail and beyond. A seamless grille, auto-levelling triple beam LED headlights with an auto levelling headlamp system and headlight washers, and a heated LEXUS front emblem announce the GX’s powerful presence. The rear sports the signature Lexus unified L-shaped light bar and LEXUS logo, plus a power rear lift door with pop-out window. Engineers also ensured the GX would be a stable foundation upon which to mount adventure accessories – from rooftop tents to recovery kits. Other notable exterior details include power-folding, reverse auto-tilting, and heated side mirrors, roof rails, a rear spoiler, plus rain sensing wipers.
Inside, the cabin is luxurious and modern, and offered in a choice of three seating configurations. Every model features heated and ventilated front row seats, a heated and full leather-wrapped steering wheel, and multi-zone automatic climate control. Drivers will enjoy a strong, horizontal instrument panel designed to provide superior forward and side visibility. In cabin storage is better in this third-generation model, with an extra large console box and door pockets, plus more cargo capacity. The cargo area also features a 120-volt/400-watt AC power outlet.
Every 2025 GX is impressively equipped with advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface. This Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features a 14-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite compatibility. The Lexus Interface incorporates a virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App. Other technology features include a 12.3-inch full-colour multi-information display, multiple USB charging ports, and ambient interior illumination systems.
As a Lexus, every GX is impressively equipped with state of the art safety features. All models are fitted with Lexus Safety System +3.0 – a portfolio of Lexus active safety technologies that supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety systems include the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a tire pressure monitoring system with auto location, 10 airbags, a backup camera with Back Guide Monitor and camera washer, and the Rear Seat Reminder system.
