TORONTO, DECEMBER 15, 2025 – As Canadians prepare to put 2025 in the rearview mirror, Lexus Canada wrapped up a year-long celebration to mark its 35th anniversary in Canada with a media event in British Columbia that looked to explore the future of Lexus. This followed similar events from earlier this year - reflecting on the brand’s past with an event in Quebec in February, and highlighting Lexus’s present-day operations in Ontario in June.

“Throughout the past 35 years, the Lexus journey in this country has been marked by extraordinary innovation and growth – driven by an unwavering dedication to exceptional craftsmanship, bold design, undeniable quality, and an unmatched dealership experience,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “While the brand’s 35th anniversary celebration tour is now history, everyone at Lexus Canada is looking ahead and excited by the opportunities to help Guests discover a new, luxury lifestyle over the next 35 years and beyond.”

The program began in a facility that exemplifies an innovative and unique approach to the Lexus experience provided to Guests. Invited media gathered at Lexus Studio by Regency Lexus – the first-ever Lexus electrified studio in Canada and a ground-breaking proof of concept for the brand globally. This new boutique style retail experience boasts an immersive environment designed to encourage exploration and discovery of Lexus’s electrified products.

During the event, the Canadian premiere of the 8th generation Lexus ES took place – a complete reimagining of one of the two vehicles that helped launch the Lexus brand in Canada in 1990. The all-new ES is the first Lexus core model to be available with both Hybrid and Battery Electric powertrains. It also benefits from a new Lexus design language inspired by the LF-ZC concept vehicle, featuring a clean and elegant design aesthetic. The next generation of the Lexus Interface multimedia system and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 will debut on the all-new ES.

Throughout the event, Lexus invited attendees to get behind the wheel of select new 2026 Lexus electrified vehicles – with a selection of Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid or Battery Electric powertrains.

First, was the refreshed 2026 Lexus RZ, which delivers more power, greater efficiency, increased range, and faster charging times. Lexus has also expanded the lineup with five grades, including the first-ever RZ 550e F SPORT model, featuring more aggressive styling and even sportier performance.

Also offered were new grades of popular Lexus models, including the NX 450h+ F SPORT 2, RX 450h+ Ultra Premium, LX 700h Luxury, and RX 500h Blackline special edition.

The RX 500h held particular significance, as it was assembled in Canada at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) in southwestern Ontario. TMMC was the first plant outside of Japan to build a Lexus vehicle in the early 2000s and later became the first to build a Lexus hybrid vehicle. Today, TMMC assembles Lexus’s best-selling models – the NX and RX (gas and hybrid) – and has become the most award-winning auto manufacturing plant in the world. As Lexus looks to the future, the brand remains committed to the Canadian economy as the only luxury automaker that assembles vehicles in Canada.

These manufacturing achievements are matched by the exceptional brand experience delivered by Lexus Dealers across Canada. Embracing the Japanese philosophy of Omotenashi - treating people as honoured guests in one’s home - the 40 Lexus Dealers nationwide are widely recognized throughout the industry and have helped make Canada the fourth largest Lexus market globally. Lexus Canada and its dealers are grateful to its Guests for putting the brand on track to achieve record annual sales in 2025.

Finally, Chapter Three of Lexus’s 35th anniversary celebration looked ahead to the future direction of the brand’s products and technologies. As part of this, Lexus recapped several concept models that were unveiled at the recent Japan Mobility Show, led by a new flagship - the LS Concept – where “LS” no longer stands for Luxury Sedan, but rather Luxury Space. Additional concepts highlighted include the LS Micro Concept, LS Coupe Concept, and Lexus Sport Concept, now referred to as the LFA Concept following its recent debut in Japan. Together, these unique concepts articulate a future in which Lexus Guests can create their own luxury lifestyle, with 360 degrees of mobility.

Luxury is leadership, and the leading edge of luxury is constantly evolving. As Lexus looks ahead to the next 35 years, its goal is to strengthen its promise to Guests at the heart of the luxury marketplace. That promise is to Discover - to think independently and confidently, to be adventurous and innovative, and to do this all with the explicit goal of helping Guests discover a new, luxury lifestyle.
