Five models available – including F SPORT and self-charging hybrid electric
TORONTO, ONTARIO – DECEMBER 13th, 2021 – Crafted to stand above the rest, the Lexus LS 500 and LS 500h prestige sedans are modern, progressive icons that set the tone for all other luxury automakers. For 2022, Lexus designers and engineers collaborated to enhance in-cabin refinement and safety for all models.
“Driving a beautifully designed and engineered vehicle, built with no-compromise craftsmanship, is a transformative experience – and that’s the experience we offer our guests with the 2022 Lexus LS series,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus in Canada. “The LS has always represented the very best of Lexus. As we head into 2022, this is an ideal opportunity for our guests to embrace the finest that Lexus has to offer.”
Curbside, the LS series is stunning and distinctive. From the signature Lexus grille and triple LED headlamps, to the firmly planted styling of 19” or 20” wheels, to the power moon roof, all features contribute to a sleek, coupe-like exterior that promises an engaging driving experience.
Inside, the LS series expresses ultimate levels of refinement and reward with a cabin that welcomes driver and guests at every opportunity. Masterful assembly and exquisite materials result in hand-crafted elegance – from origami-inspired material designs to ambient lighting reminiscent of Japanese lanterns. Drivers and passengers are wrapped in comfort – from the seats to the climate control systems.
Every LS is an intelligent technology showcase, with systems designed to elevate comfort and convenience, keep guests connected to the world around them, and elevate the joy of driving. Lexus Navigation with Remote delivers connectivity and peace of mind, with Embedded Navigation, Destination Asssist, Remote Connect, Service Connect, and Safety Connect. Select services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App, while all models are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible.
Other features of note include the next-generation Lexus Remote Touch Interface and a standard 24” head up display.
Top trim models may be further enhanced with hand-pleated door interior panels, and hand cut Kiriko glass ornamentation – a world first in a production automobile.
The LS series is built on the Lexus GA-L platform, making it the most capable Lexus flagship sedan to date. The new Lexus Driving Signature makes itself felt through subtle tuning of the engine, the control surfaces, the steering, and the braking, working in harmony to give drivers maximum control.
The LS 500’s 416 peak horsepower, twin-turbo V6 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, capable of launching the sedan from 0-100 kph in just 4.6 seconds. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters put manual-like control at the driver’s fingertips.
For those who desire extra efficiency and advanced performance, the LS 500h features the world’s first multi-stage self-charging hybrid powertrain. Generating 354 net system horsepower, the LS 500h is able to accelerate from 0-100 kph in 5.5 seconds while achieving class-leading fuel efficiency. For an even more engaging driving experience, drivers may set this hybrid powertrain into “M-Mode”, which simulates a 10-speed automatic transmission, then select and hold gears manually using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
All LS models feature a refined Lexus all-wheel-drive system that efficiently and effectively delivers engine power to all four wheels. This works in combination with a limited slip differential that optimizes power distribution between front and rear axles. The result is enhanced traction and handling in a variety of driving conditions.
For 2022, all LS series models are standard equipped with Lexus Safety System + 2.0, a bundle of active safety technologies designed to support driver awareness and decision-making under a variety of conditions. Other safety features include Intuitive Parking Assist with auto braking and the Lexus blind spot monitor system with rear cross traffic alert.
