TORONTO, November 12, 2024 – When you’re looking for the pinnacle of capability, space, and style, the Lexus LX series full-size luxury SUV does it all. New for 2025, Lexus introduces its first-ever LX hybrid – the LX 700h – delivering commanding horsepower and torque plus impressive efficiency. First introduced on the 2024 GX and exclusively available on the all-new LX Hybrid, the Overtrail + grade encourages Guests to explore Canada’s world-renowned natural splendour in luxury and style. The LX 600 also benefits from an upgrade in 2025, with significant enhancements to all models.
“The LX is a commanding vehicle that wraps Guests in an SUV experience that’s beyond extraordinary – a perfect blend of ultimate comfort, impeccable ride quality, luxurious amenities, and go-anywhere off-road performance with no compromise,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “This year, we’re thrilled to bring the Lexus hybrid powertrain plus our adventure-focused Overtrail+ package to the LX series – to accelerate amazing experiences for our Guests.”
2025 marks the debut of the LX 700h – three grades built around powerful and proven Lexus electrification technology. In the LX, this hybrid powertrain features a twin-turbo 3.4L V6 paired with a 10-speed direct shift automatic transmission. This combination generates a commanding 457 system horsepower plus 583 lb-ft of torque and an impressive manufacturer-estimated city/highway combined fuel consumption of 11.7 L/100 km. Twin turbochargers deliver steady and constant acceleration to easily control power delivery in both on- and off-road scenarios, while motor-driven power in the low range – a new feature for Lexus – enables confident driving in scenarios requiring precise throttle control, such as rocky paths, dirt roads, and deep snow, for exceptional performance and ease of handling regardless of what’s under the wheels.
A 3.4L V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine and 10-speed direct shift automatic transmission also form the heart of three LX 600 SUVs. In these models, the powertrain produces 409 peak horsepower and up to 479 lb-ft of torque. Maximum torque is available in a wide range, up to 3,600 rpm, making it easier to handle on the open road or off the trail.
2025 also marks the debut of the Overtrail+ grade to the LX series. Fitted to two of the LX 700h models, this package builds on the commanding off-road prowess of the LX, adding unique features and equipment to encourage Guests to explore Canada’s great outdoors (see model descriptions, below, for details). These adventure-forward vehicles may be ordered in a grade-specific Earth body colour. Inside, grade-specific cabin colours include Black or Stone Brown semi-aniline leather-trim on the seats and door panels with Stone Brown stitching and Black Open Pore wood accents on the centre console and door panels.
The handling and control of every LX is enhanced with a long list of standard systems, including a Torsen limited slip locking centre differential, Active Height Control, Adaptive Variable Suspension, Multi-Terrain Select, Multi-Terrain Monitor, Electric Power Steering, Electronically Controlled Brake, Crawl Control, and Downhill Assist Control. Every LX features true body-on-frame construction – making it the only fully authentic SUV in its class, and setting the bar for all-surface capability and all-weather performance. To maximize on-road refinement and off-road prowess, Lexus engineers built the LX on the GA-F platform, which lowers the centre of gravity, reduces vehicle weight, and elevates overall rigidity. Engineers also isolated the cabin from the frame to minimize vibration and harshness for a quieter, more comfortable ride.
Every LX commands attention with a body design that marries superior function with stunning good looks. From its prominent grille flanked by triple beam LED headlamps to its full-width blade tail lamps, the LX has a powerful presence. Inside, the LX cabin expresses the Lexus Tazuna Concept – elevating the joy of driving with a more intuitive connection between driver and vehicle. The blend of luxury and advanced technology is evident throughout.
Every 2025 LX is impressively equipped with advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface – including Remote Connect, Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Drive Connect services. This Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite compatibility. The Lexus Interface incorporates a natural language virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App.
As a Lexus, every LX is impressively equipped with state-of-the-art safety features. All models are fitted with Lexus Safety System +3.0 – an upgrade to the newest version for the LX 600. This portfolio of Lexus active safety technologies supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety systems include the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Brake, Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking, the Lexus Star Safety System, multi-terrain ABS, trailer sway control system, the panoramic view monitor with multi-terrain monitor, and 10 airbags.
